ViperDet Shock Tube

Product Description

Viperdet Shock tube is used together with Viperdet Trunkline products to initiate non-electric shock tube detonators. Viperdet Lead-in-line units consist of a detonator and connector to facilitate shot initiation.

Application

Viperdet Shock tube provides a high degree of safety in both underground and surface-blasting applications, it is safe against extraneous electric currents and provides a high level of security against static electricity found in normal mining and construction conditions. 

Viperdet Lead-in-line is designed to initiate one to eight shock tubes.

Features

Shock tube: Yellow, provides high visibility.

Viperdet Lead-in-line is available in various lengths.

Connector: Viperdet Lead-in-line can accept up to eight shock tubes. 

Viperdet Shock tube can be spliced to Viperdet Trunkline products which allow up to eight shock tubes.

Guidelines For Use

System Usage

Viperdet Shock Tube can be spliced into a Viperdet Trunkline for initiation of of up to eight shock tubes.

Priming and Initiation

To prevent a snap, slap, and shoot incident (unexpected detonation) never pull or stretch non-electric shock tube to the point of breaking.

Never allow vehicle entanglement with ViperDet Shock Tube.

Handling

All explosives must be transported and stored in accordance with relevant local, state and federal regulations.

Product Risk Profile
All explosives are classified as dangerous goods and may cause damage to property, personal harm, or death, if not used correctly.

Severe detonation hazard when exposed to heat.
Detonation may occur from impact, friction, or excessive heating.
Never attempt to fight explosives fires.

Storage

ViperDet Shock Tube shelf life is 36 months when stored in the original packaging, under dry conditions and moderate temperate, and in a well ventilated and approved magazine.

UN Classification for Transport and Storage

All explosives must be transported in accordance with relevant local, state and federal regulations.

ViperDet Shock Tube 1.4S Classification:
Each case has a single layer that contains two spools.

Hazardous Material Classification:
Articles, Explosives, N.O.S. Class and Division 1.4S, PGII, UN 0349.

Safe Use

  • Never fight explosive fires.
  • Refer to Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for first aid information.
  • All explosives must be transported and stored in accordance to relevant regulations.
  • All explosives are classified as dangerous goods and may cause damage to property, personal harm, or death, if not used correctly.
  • Always keep products away from sources of heat, sparks, flame or hot surfaces and avoid mixing with combustibles or incompatible materials.
