Innopak Supreme

Updated: October 21, 2024

Product Description

Innopak Supreme is a packaged wax-based, aluminized, perchlorate-free, high-density, booster-sensitive emulsion.

Application

Innopak Supreme is solid sensitized for an increased level of resistance to excess shock from adjacent blast holes and is designed for use in surface and underground applications.

Its water-resistant characteristics make it suitable for use in small and large diameter wet holes.

Product Specifications

Velocity of Detonation (VOD): 4000 m/s to 6600 m/s (14,435 ft/s to 21,650 ft/s) dependent on application, diameter, confinement and density.

RWS and RBS calculated with ANFO density 0.80 g/cc and effective energy 2.260 kJ/kg.

¹ANFO: Density 0.8 g/cm³. Effective Energy 2.260 kJ/kg.

Guidelines For Use

Priming and Initiation

Innopak Supreme is booster sensitive. Minimum primer is a 227 g (1/2 lb) cast booster initiated by a high strength detonator (No. 8 strength or greater base charge).

Innopak Supreme cannot be directly initiated with detonating cord or detonators.

Always allow Innopak Supreme ample time to warm to borehole temperature.

Consult with a BME Technical Representative for additional priming and initiation guidance.

Blasthole Charge Length Hole Diameter Density Relationships

Maximum hole depth depends on product selection, hole diameter, product densities, and the presence of water. Please contact a BME Technical Representative for additional guidance.

Ground Temperature

This product may be used in ground temperatures from to a maximum of 65°C (150°F) . If the application requires use outside this temperature range please contact a BME Technical Representative for additional guidance.

Reactive Ground

This product is not formulated for use in reactive ground. Reactive ground is typically characterised by the presence of sulphide mineralization. If the application requires use in known reactive ground, or in untested sulphide bearing ground, please contact a BME Technical Representative for additional guidance.

Handling

All explosives must be transported and stored in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
